Where are you located? I can't find your shop!
Strohnuts is an entirely home-based, Cottage Food Licensed bakery. We don't have a physical retail location. Yelp doesn't allow us to post our address since we don't have a traditional retail location.
Are your donuts vegan?
No. Our donuts contain dairy products such as eggs and buttermilk.
What does "Strohnuts" mean and how do your pronounce it?
Great question! Strohnuts is a tounge-in-cheek reference to my family's last name: Stroh. (Unrelated to the founders of Stroh Beer, unfortunately.) As for the pronunciation, it's simple: think "donuts" but replace the "d" with "Str." Strohnuts!
What allergens do your donuts contain?
Our donuts contain eggs, buttermilk, soy, almonds. Our chocolate glaze contains coconut oil as well.
What do your donuts taste like?
Our donuts are baked, never fried. They are cakey (not airy) and moist.
Do you offer holes?
Yes we do! This is a great option for first timers!
What is a "Cottage Food Business?" How can I trust a home bakery?
Cottage Food is a law that was enacted on January 1, 2013 that allows certain foods to be made at home. Each Cottage Food Operation must submit a detailed application that is carefully reviewed by county environmental health officials. While many home food businesses you see online don't have a CFO Permit, WE DO! We follow all state food preparation guidelines and maintain a clean, sanitary baking environment.
How do I order?
You can text us at 714-889-8818 or send us an email at email@example.com. Let us know how many donuts you would like (minimum 6 regular or 24 holes) the glazes, time, date for pickup/drop off. We ask that you give us a day's notice for your order.
Is there a minimum purchase/glaze limit required?
Yes. For regular donuts, we require at least 6 donuts for purchase. For the holes, we require at least 2 dozen for purchase.
We offer up to 3 glazes for half dozen or 4 glazes for one dozen regular donuts. For holes, we offer up to 2 glazes for two dozen or 3 glazes for three dozen.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash or Venmo. No need to pay until we deliver them to your door. We no longer accept payment through the site since the Merchant Fees have increased. For example, a $20 order through Shopify would net us only $18.95 after fees.
Can I pickup the donuts I ordered?
Absolutely! Text us what day/time you would like to pick them up. On the day of pickup, you can text us when you arrive and we'll bring it out to your car!
Is there a "Leave at Door" option?
Absolutely! If you pay through Venmo, we'll leave the donuts at your doorstep.
Do you offer sugar-free or dairy free donuts?
We don't offer sugar-free or dairy-free options at this time.
Is your household celiac free?
While we aren't a celiac free family, we do take every precaution to ensure there is no cross-contamination. Whether it be cleaning the sink and kitchen daily, or using separate equipment for the baking process, your health is our number one priority.
Why do you charge more than the average donut shop?
Our donuts are baked not fried which increases the costs on our end. We're operating solely from a single, home oven. A standard batch of baked donuts takes at least 35 minutes to cook in the oven. Additionally, each donut includes a variety of high-quality flours as opposed to one single all purpose flour found in your standard fried pastry.
Our glazes are never frozen and always made to order.
What type of gluten-free flour do you use in your donuts?
Bob's Red Mill Oat Flour, Bob's Red Mill Almond Flour, Bob's Red Mill White Rice Flour and Mochiko Sweet Rice Flour.
What cities do you deliver to?
We currently offer delivery to Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, Brea, Buena Park, La Palma, and Anaheim. We also deliver to parts of Yorba Linda, Cypress, Tustin, Orange and Garden Grove. We typically like to keep deliveries within a 10 mile radius to our house.
Can't find your city here? We offer pick up as well.
How long do your donuts last at room temperature?
Our donuts have a long lifespan! You can typically keep our donuts out of the refrigerator for the first two days after purchase. After that, we recommend refrigerating the donuts and then heating each one up in the microwave for 15-30 seconds at a time. You can also freeze the donuts as well.
I want to order some donuts but don't live in your delivery areas. What can I do?
Send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll work with you to deliver some donuts to your city.
